[ARCHIVED] City of Fort Pierce Offers Free Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing

City of Fort Pierce Offers Free Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing

As families prepare to celebrate the upcoming holidays, the City of Fort Pierce will host a two-day, free drive-thru COVID testing event to help minimize the risk of infection and transmission of the coronavirus. The event will be Wednesday and Thursday, December 16-17, 2020, at Ilous Ellis Park, located at the corner of North 13th Street and Avenue O. Testing begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. on both days.

Tests will be administered on a first-come, first-serve basis. All collections will be oral (saliva). Results will be processed within 72 hours, if not sooner. No appointment is necessary, but if individuals would like to reduce their wait time, citizens can preregister at https://portal.dynixdiagnostix.com/landing/FPCOVID.

A photo ID is needed. All adults 18 and older, with or without symptoms, can be tested. Children may be tested when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Individuals must wear a mask and remain in their vehicles.

In preparing for the test, avoid the following 30 minutes before the collection of saliva:

    • Do not eat, drink or put anything in you mouth.
    • Thoroughly wash hands for 20 seconds and start allowing saliva to pool in your mouth.

Individuals will be contacted or emailed by Dynix Diagnostix’s with test results, and the St. Lucie County Health Department will provide follow-up case management for those who test positive.
