The Fort Pierce City Commission is seeking individuals to serve on the Board of Examiners of Contractors. The purpose of the board is to provide practical and adequate control of all contractors in the construction trades in the city by requiring annual registration and competency cards, assurance of their proper coverage of required insurance and to ensure the highest standard of building within the city. It is the intent of the City Commission to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the city through the regulation of the construction and home improvement industries.
The vacancy is for a person licensed in one of the following trades: architecture, electrical contractor, engineering, general, residential, or building contractor, mechanical or air-conditioning contractor, other contracting specialty, plumbing contractor, roofing, swimming pools. The applicant must be a resident of St. Lucie County for at least the past two years.
